Danielle Dubé

Danielle Dubé has been Organist and Choir director at St. Peter's for fifteen years. She maintains a busy career as an organist and a harpsichordist. In 1981, she was awarded first prize in the Canadian Music Competition, organ section. In 1985, she won the John Robb competition organized by the Montreal Centre of the Royal Canadian College of Organists, and was awarded second prize in the RCCO National Organ Playing competition. In 2000, she was appointed Director of the Music Conservatory in Hull.

Danielle plays frequently in recitals, and is often heard on CBC Stereo and Radio-Canada. She has premiered the works of many contemporary Canadian composers. In 1991, she completed with her husband, Sylvain Barrette, a series of 16 public recitals featuring the complete organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach. On this occasion, their first recording, Christmas with J.S. Bach, was released on CD and cassette.

Recognition

Danielle Dubé became St. Peter's Organist and Choir Director in August 1986. Late 2000, she was appointed Director of the Music Conservatory in Hull. During 2001, she has been on leave from St. Peter's, without pay. In September, the Congregational Council received, with regret, Danielle's resignation, effective December 31, 2001. As we say farewell to Danielle, we thank for her ministry of music, and ask God to bless her in her new position.
