CENTRETOWN CHURCHES SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE Annual Ecumenical Service for Social Action, Sunday, October 15 at 3:00 p.m.  Canadian Martrys Roman Catholic Church, 100 Main St./ Lees Ave.  Guest Speaker, Diane Morrison of The Ottawa Mission. Topic 100 Years of Ministry to those in need.  Refreshments served following the service.

 

BIBLE STUDY SIGN-UP  in the parish hall.  Evening sessions will begin Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.  Day sessions to be scheduled.  Study is seven sessions.

 

THANKSGIVING The Altar Guild encourages donations of fruits and vegetables to decorate the church.

 

NEW HYMNAL, Evangelical Lutheran Worship, will be published in October 2006.  Copies of the hymnal can be purchased for the church as a thank you to God, for a special occasion, or in memory of a loved one. While any amount can be donated, the pre-published cost is $24.00, including taxes and shipping.  Mark your offering envelope, “Hymnal”.

 

NEW MEMBERS New members will be received in October.  St. Peter’s is a community of faith, seeking to grow in God’s love and grace.  If you would like to join St. Peter’s,  please speak to Pastor Beglo.

 

WORSHIP WORKSHOP orientation to new hymnal for worship leaders and musicians will occur October 21 from 9-4 p.m. at St. Peter’s.  Participants must pre-register by sending cheque to Registrar.  Please see Pastor Beglo for details.

 

MEET A MISSIONARY FOR LUNCH Lori Endress, ELCIC missionary in Thailand, will give a presentation Monday, Oct. 16 at noon. Coffee and sandwiches will be provided.  Everyone is welcome.

 

BONHOEFFER WEEKEND with PROFESSOR BOB KELLY, Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, Sat. Nov. 4, 9:00 a.m.  Light breakfast and Introduction to Bonhoeffer and his times.  Sat. , 7:00 p.m. film.  Sun. Nov. 5, Dr. Kelly preaches at St. Peter’s.
